[REVIEW] The Face Shop Face It Velvet Skin Primer

Hi ,
So I decided to review this primer which I have for quite a while. I saw this was crowned No.1 in "Get It Beauty" blind test so I decided to try it out.

I still love my Banila co primer but sometimes a change of pace is not wrong right? After all I'm a beauty junkie so I can't be satisfied by just trying a product for a long time.

By the way, I got this with a box but not sure where did I put it or it was mistakenly trashed so no boxy-piccies. (For ingredients, you may look up to other blogger reviews, they did put the ingredients picture from the box)

Product information
Name : The Face Shop Face It Velvet Skin Primer
Production : Made in Korea
Volume : 30g / 1.05 oz.

It came with a pump.

Instead of writing the manufacturing date, they did otherwise. In fact, I like this better.

Can be used 12 months after opening. Someone tell me what PET means?

The product is a transparent gel type.

Partial blending. Because it is transparent so it's hard to notice.

This primer will create a soft smooth skin after applied and I use it to cover my pores especially on cheekbone, nose, forehead and chin. That way, my foundation will glides easily without looking bumpy.

Although the primer claimed that it is best for oily skin, it does because the finish is soft matte but in terms of oil control, I guess it doesn't do much. I did blot frequently to get rid of the oil from my skin.

The texture is transparent gel type and it is very light on skin. I have no experience in breaking out while using this.

There is a faint flowery powder smell to it which smells really pleasant. It wasn't over the top for me because I always love something that smells good.

Price is reasonable. I got this for about RM30-RM40 somewhere is between. As I remembered, it is cheaper than Banila co primer.

One 30g tube last me for so long. I think it has been about 4-5 months now and I still have a very little product left.

It is a worth try if you're looking for something that could cover up pores without breaking out your skin but if you're looking for oil control primer, I guess this is not for you. I already bought a new primer from another brand so I'll be trying that after I finished this up.

Thank you for reading :)

Hello mizu chan! nice review for this product ^^ I want to ask you a question does it covers redness? I have redness on my face and it doesn't disappear by just using cc cream. Do you have other suggestion which primer work best to cover redness? thank tho. :D

Hi Yubi chan,
Unfortunately, it doesn't cover redness dear because it came in a transparent colour. Most CC cream is actually meant not to be wear alone because Korean usually wear CC cream for the base on top it with BB cream.

I'm not sure which primer would works great to cover the redness but I saw one from stylenanda-3CE primer and it does have a bit of coverage :D How about checking it out?

I've never used primer, but I really want to try them after reading your Banila Co. and this review. XD I'm afraid they'll clog my pores though.>_<

They both is very light - you almost feel nothing. I experience no break out either.

Does PET have something to do with petrochemicals or maybe petroleum based packaging (plastics)? I don't remember.

Do you know if this is like the Holika Holika cotton queen primer?

Owh, I never really put my attention to Lioele brand before but I have another recommendation from you to take a look.

You're much welcome :D

I see, sorry that I don't really know what PET means but I think it is near to what you're saying.

Not sure about Holika Holika Cotton Primer because the spray that I use from that collection didn't do much but I can't judge just yet.
