[REVIEW] Benton PHA Peeling Toner

I'm so excited to be back at blogging and of course the new Benton product!

They sent this PHA Peeling Toner to me for review purposes about 3 weeks ago so let's read what I thought about this product :)

If you aren't familiar with PHA, it is basically in the same team as those AHA and BHA but PHA molecules is bigger than those two so makes it more suitable to sensitive skin people. I've tried one product with PHA before and basically it suits me so well so I'm pretty excited about this one.

From Benton:

+ Contains Natural Moisturizing Factor, Chrysanthemum Extract and 3% of the third generation PHA (Lactobionic acid) which helps clear impurities and sebum secretion.

+ Minimum photosensitivity of PHA and it melts impurities on the skin while forming water barrier, leaving the skin smooth and clear.

+ Contains Sodium PA and Hyaluronic Acid which are Natural Moisturizing Factors, and Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water and Chrysanthemum Extract which are also known as natural moisturizing water or soothing water. These ingredients leaving leave skin moist by soothing and moiturizing skin that may become dry from removing dead skin cells and impurities.

+ The peeling toner is free of artificial fragrance, coloring, volatile alcohol, PEGs and other controversial ingredients. It is mildly acidic, dermatologically tested product which helps with sufficient moisturization, allowing even sensitive skin to exfoliate without burden.

My thoughts:

+ I've been using this from the Day 1 it arrives until now and Benton specifically wrote that rather than using this everyday, 2-3 times a week is recommended or suitable frequency so that the toner could adapt to the skin properly. I'm using it 2-3 times a week or more since I find that it adapt to my skin quite well.

+ A cotton pad is suggested to be used with the toner so I didn't directly patting it on my face.

+ The toner is quite runny in consistency so it took quite an amount to soak my cotton pad and honestly I hate using cotton pad because it feels that I'm wasting product on the cotton pad more haha

+ Since the texture is quite runny and clear, it absorbs into my skin in seconds. Although it doesn't feels extremely moisturizing but I don't feel any tightness which is good. So it shows that it has the moisturizing properties despite the texture.

+ This toner is used as the the next step after I cleanse my face. I feel that my next step of skincare (e.g: serums, moisturizer, etc) absorbed much much much better after I applied on this toner. I was rather surprised because it usually took time for those skincare to be fully dry on face and honestly it shorten the time taken for me to finish my routines.

+There's little to none of fragrance with this toner. Most of the time I couldn't detect any and if I did, it did have the faint smell of AHA.

+ I had acne on the sides of my face and I sometimes use the cotton pad with toner soak in with aggression so sometimes it does irritate those parts so I recommend you to be careful on those areas or better, use patting motion on those areas and don't keep layering it on because it will irritate your acne.

+ Does my skin improved? I'm not so sure about this however, it did feel smoother and like I said, it helps in helping my skincare absorbed better.

+ One thing that I had complain with this toner is the pump bottle. I find that the texture is rather runny and this pump does not help at all. Most of the time the pump is too tight and when I try to pump the liquid, it keep spurting everywhere :l  I do hope than Benton can improve on the bottle's function or just put it in mist bottle. That would 100% helps.

+ Would I make a purchase? For now I think no because I love my Benton BHA Aloe Toner because it has everything I like especially that it is more moisturizing than this. However, I would use this as a side toner as interval to my current toner.

• Experiment with different strengths of AHA and BHA to see which concentration gives you the best results. Consider adding a "weekly" (higher strength) AHA or BHA treatment when you want to take your exfoliation to the next level.
• Apply your AHA or BHA exfoliant around the eye area, but not on the eyelid or directly under the eye (along the lower lash line). This can help soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as enhance the penetration of anti-aging ingredients you apply after your AHA or BHA.
• If you’re using topical prescription products for rosacea or acne, apply the AHA or BHA exfoliant first, and then follow with your medications from lightest to heaviest texture. Some people will find their skin doesn’t tolerate a topical retinoid along with an AHA or BHA, but for others it can provide brilliant results, so it’s definitely worth seeing if this combination works for you.

You may get the gist now after all those notes from PaulasChoice. However, there are also different opinion about BHA or AHA exfoliant is that some says you need to wait until it is dry for 20 minutes or so on your face before you can apply the following product. In my opinion, this is depend on one's skin. In my case, I don't need to wait until AHA exfoliant dries on me because it doesn't effect my skin however I DO need to wait until my BHA dries on skin for a few minutes and then I'll apply the next product. This is because AHA didn't cause tingling sensation on my skin but BHA do.

I also find that this A-sol from COSRX need to be applied moderately if you're first time user and have sensitive skin or acne-prone skin because it might tingle your skin for quite amount of time until you're used to it. My skin requires about a month and more to adapt with the BHA exfoliant until I can't feel any tingling sensation anymore every time I applied this after washing my face.

I already used this for quite amount of time and I would definitely feel that this A-Sol definitely reduce the appearance of sebum on my skin and at the same time it locks the moisture in. The consistency is watery and I don't like using cotton pad because cotton pad soak so much of the product and I feel it is a waste. Usually I would put the liquid on my palm and just patted it on my face until it was absorbed.

Until this date, I don't have sensitive reaction to this product and I do feel that it helps to lessen my redness especially on my cheeks and the reduce the pimples appearance on my face (though I rarely get one now since I found my HG drink and it helps my face 100% free from acne or pimples :D)

and by the way, there is no fragrance in this exfoliant but there is a natural smell which smells like herbs I guess?

Overall, I would recommend this product to everyone who had troubled skin and use moderately if you're a first timer so that it can adapt to your skin before you used them madly like me now XD haha just kidding ;D

[REVIEW] Thayers Witch Hazel Alchol-free Toner

Hi guys! I'm done with today's registration for a new semester in college, well it was short and I got nothing left to do until this Sunday so I'm thinking of blogging. 

I get a request to review this toner from Thayers that I got from HiShop, which is not sponsored and I'm buying it by my own because I want to try these toners. I was surprised when it arrives to me, the toner was actually big in size!

I knew that the Rose type is quite popular but I choose Lavender and Cucumber because the description says that the Lavender type is good for problem skin and the Cucumber is good to freshen up the skin. I basically need that and I'll probably try the Rose next time. If you're not keen of any of these fragrance, they also have the original witch hazel.

These toners from Thayers arealcohol-free, paraben-free, pthalate-free, moisturizes and cleanses which is everything that you might looking for in a toner. I was bought by these descriptions and seen tons of good reviews about these toners.

I would like to point out the smell over all. I'm not familiar with the witch hazel plant since it was not available in my country but based on my searches, it seems to be a plant with many benefits and most likely to be safe when applies to the skin. I was startled by the bad smell of it when I first used the toner. I thought it was expired but found out that because it was un-distilled witch hazel, the smell of the plant is stronger, which is the real smell of witch hazel. It smelled kind of old grandma powder or something..haha BUT it gradually grow on me and I'm no longer bothered much by the smell now. Maybe the slight Lavender/ Cucumber fragrance made the smell better.

Out of two, my most favourite is the Lavender, maybe because of the Lavender smells really good. I like on how these toners moisturize my skin enough after the skin tight from all the face washing. Although I said it gives moisture but you mustn't skipped all the next steps of moisturizing.

The toner is just the most toners out there which is watery and absorbs really fast on the skin and will dry in no time. I would say that it does a great job in calming the skin. I had red patches on the face and it really calms my skin especially after washing my face.

Overall, this is a good toner to try out. I think this could be a great mist too in case you're not bothered by the smell of course.

[REVIEW] Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner

*blow up the dust* It's been almost a month since I've blogged..I guess I almost forgot..hahaxD

blame K and Sket Dance..also lots of mangas coz I'm too immersed with them..lol

anyway,today's review is for the all time popular Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner. 

This isn't a new product of course and the lame me just tried them 3 months ago since I ran out my toner that time and surprisingly this bottle is not dried up yet. I thought it wouldn't be enough till 3 months since I used a lot of toner daily.

I captured this perfectly! *thumbs up for me* lol

This is the smaller version. The bigger version is 500ml with a pump. I bought this one because I just wanted to try this out first to tell if it is working for me or not.

I actually took the photos 2 months ago and I wanted to show you the before and after photos after using them but I gradually lost interest in doing so when time passed by..I need more motivation..*punch myself*

Reading a lot of blogs which had interest in beauty, I found this products is overly popular among them so I tell myself that I need to try this too! So I bought one of course.

3 months after using this, I can see up and down of the products. I guess I might not be buying this again. It's not like it's not good but most of the time, this isn't work for me. But my first impression of this product is that i love it.I love the smell and I love how it works on my face. It has a bread pudding smell..lol..idk if you know how bread pudding smell but it does to me..

For the first month, I can see that my pore is smaller because the oil on my face decrease and it moisturize my skin well. However, starting on the second month, I realize that this freshner becoming stickier by day and it really bothers me a lot. Also my pores aren't really small after each use.

But I didn't stop using this. I decrease the amount I used each day and it still works in moisturize my skin :D

Overall, this is not too bad, it's just I wanted and still finding the most suited for my face.That's all.

P/s : the results may vary for every person. i had a very oily face and the weather here is very hot.

I missed my blog so much~~Sorry for no updates for the last few days.

I've been too stress and I need sleep coz I got a terrible panda eyes because all of the assignments and tests *sigh*

I got sometime to write a post today coz I still have few tests left for this week

*i'm zombified*

Anyway,I'm pretty excited for this haul because my last week order had arrived.Maybe not all of them yet but I'm too excited that I can't wait for the next parcel..haha

 I finally bought the Wonder Pore Freshner in smaller size(250ml).Full size(500ml) is too expensive but I just want try this first and I'll buy the full size if this satisfies me~

and for the Etude House AC Clinic Cleanser,I bought this last month but the parcel was missing and idk where it went since I had no tracking number for that but the seller did refund me..hehe..I re-buy this cleanser with another seller last week and it safely arrive with 3 nice samples(the samples are not in picture,already forgot about that..haha)

Finally the new released Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara arrives!!yeayyy~~

I wanted to have more colors for my eyeshadows and I went to Guardian store to look for Majolica Majorca palette but the colors I wanted to have are sold out!I don't know why they didn't restock it and almost all Guardian store I drop by,the same palette color is sold out *pissed off*

So I go to ebay to find the palette and coincidentally I found this new limited edition palette.I didn't saw anyone post about this yet but I can't wait for others review since the colors is so nice and I fell in love.The palette itself is very expensive but I can't think no more and bought this palette.Total price of this palette include shipping is about RM63+ O.O

I think that's all and I don't know how much I've spent for all of this..

There gonna be an exciting news for the next post!Guess what?hehe :DD

[REVIEW] Skin Mal:gem / Skin Malgeum

How are you guys?I finally can manage some time to post up this review!Most of readers are emailing me and sending messages on facebook to ask how good the Skin mal:gem was..Sorry for posting this so late already..

Some of you may be wondering what is Skin mal:gem?

[mal:gem] – The Korean word for cleanness, clarity and pureness. Skin Malgem hypoallergenic toners promote clean, clear and pore complexion with moisturizing and pore cleansing formulas. 

Etude House Skin [mal:gem] malgem Smoother: Exfoliation toner which contained fruits ingredients (lemon, orange, sugar maple, sugar cane, grapefruit) makes clear and soft skin. 

This product is free from Paraben, Artificial dye, Benzophenon, Mineral oil, Animal material!

Basically,it was only a toner.I bought the smoother type and it says that it is an exfoliation toner.I was wondering what they mean by exfoliation at first since the only thing that works for exfoliation is scrub and then maybe I would start to understand now of what they mean by that.I think they're referring to the cleaning of dirty pores something like that since toner also works on removing extra dirt on face after we wash our face.

There are six types of Skin mal:gem from the fresh to emulsion.I suggest you to buy according to your skin needs.If you think your skin are very oily,then the first one suits you the best.I have an oily skin too but I choose the smoother type because I think my face is super dry after washing and it makes me hard to put powder on because it will gets flaky so smoother is the best for me because I think the fresh type won't provide moisture although they said so...(but that's what I think,I never know)

There are several types you can use your skin mal:gem. First is removing make up.Second is as a mist.Third is for moisture and fourth is using it for mask.

P/S : Sorry for the bad lighting.The toner is crystal clear in color.

To the readers who asked me whether this toner are able to remove BB cream and eyeliner or not,my answer would be NO.It is because BB cream is too thick and this won't be able to remove it because it doesn't have oil which clean deep down your pores or you may ended up having a break out >_<

and for eyeliner,it doesn't remove the waterproof type.So better stick to your make-up remover or cleansing oil.

At the moment I post up this review,I already used half of the bottle.I think it has been 2 to 3 weeks I used this and don't be surprise,it wasn't that small.The bottle is quite huge as the toner is 250ml per bottle.I myself think I used a lot everyday since I wash my face about 4 times a day.I know,you're going to say that can damage my skin right??I know it but feeling oily on face half day is sucks!I can't just used oil blotter coz i think the dirt is still there..I usually wash my face before going to work,then second is on the rest time about 1pm or so,then wash again after work when i'm taking bath and lastly before i went to sleep...>_<

I'll try to fix that habit...anyway onto my thoughts;

Pros :
1 - Provide a good moisture along the day or specifically I wore this only for few hours(till I wash my face).
2 - Doesn't break me out.
3 - My face looks like I'm having a good moisture..coz it was shiny?not that oily shines..it was a healthy shine.
4 - Free from "Paraben, Artificial dye, Benzophenon, Mineral oil, Animal material" that is unhealthy for skin.5 - Pretty reasonable for a big bottle,250ml and the price I bought is only RM60+ from Korea.
6 - Available locally but if you bought locally,the price is RM79.90 so that's pretty expensive.

Cons :
1 - It just only a toner with good moisture but no other function like whitening or anti-wrinkle.
2 - It can be sticky sometimes if you put too much.

[REVIEW]OXY Acne Wash n OXY Powder Lotion

Hello there guys.. =D

As you may know(maybe?) I got an acne-prone skin/oily skin since a year ago..hmm..maybe because of the hormone change?coz I used not to have any acne nor oily face before..sad..T_T now it change and need a quality care~

So recently I bought this skin care which Oxy(a brand specific for problematic skin by Rohto Metholatum)

I thought the price was cheap and it might works for me so I bought the cleanser and powder lotion which I choose the acne wash and powder lotion which suits my skin condition,

Now,it's been almost the third I used this especially the powder lotion to control the oil on my face.

Truthfully it works~!!I only used the powder lotion frequently n only 2 times for the acne wash since i had another cleanser at the time.

The powder lotion really control my oil and didn't dry my face at all..superb..you can feel the toing-toing feel after applying the powder lotion..loves it~teheee..

My mom also said that my acne is reducing *thumbs up* although she didn't know what exactly I wore after my acne medicine is finish up a week before...

This is the cleanser texture was..this type of cleanser doesn't dry your face like other creamy texture cleanser.

and this is the powder lotion looks like after mix together.Originally,the powder and water inside the bottle will separate and you have to shake the bottle to let them mix.Th purpose of the powder is for oil control and the water is for moisturizing.Although I'm not sure that it was it,but I think that was the purpose.

I used to like the powder lotion because of faster absorption and the moisturizing characteristic that last longer.

For the ingredients,the cleanser have the Perfume 9271(Fragrance).Although this ingredients is not very suits the sensitive skin but I think it doesn't effect much on me.

While there is no ingredients of perfume in the powder lotion.

The smell is okay..not stinky nor to fragrance..

P/S : we call it toner in Malaysia where Japanese called it lotion,so that's why the name is powder lotion.
